The Challenge:
Produce the first annual fundraising event for the Freelancer’s Union.
The Solution:
We designed a scalable event which focused on celebrating the NYC freelancer community, building brand-partnership value, and highlighting the importance of the organization’s work in supporting freelancers nationwide.
AdHoc strategically produced a fundraising event that felt lively, vibrant, and fun, creating maximum FOMO and building brand-love for the organization. Our primary target was turning this event into a notorious networking opportunity for their community of freelancers. Guests effortlessly connected through event touchpoints including customized name tags, networking bingo, a digital photobooth, and cozy nooks for conversations. We also created a networking ice-breaker moment by adding a magician to stroll the party with intimate group magic interactions.
To enhance fundraising efforts beyond ticket sales and sponsorship, attendees were encouraged to donate through IRL fundraising touch-points throughout the party – whether that was buying a raffle ticket, donating via QR codes and DipJars, purchasing a signature cocktail, or pulling out their phones to donate during our rapid-fire fundraising moment on stage.
We ensured future longevity and growth of the event by documenting it with next level photography and content capture, essential tools for selling in brand partners and maximizing ticket sales for a larger, more impactful event for years to come.
“AdHoc feels like a boutique shop that packs a punch focused on the clients needs”
– Rafael Espinal, President & Executive Director, Freelancers Union
The organization raised nearly $40,000 and the event hit max guest capacity. We also bolstered brand-love, hearing direct feedback from Freelance Union members such as, “This event is the first time it felt cool to be a member in 15 years”.
